Ugoos UT3/UT3S/UM3 new 2.0.8 Android 4.4 firmware ready to download!

Good day! We are ready to show you new 2.0.8 firmware for our RK3288 brand line. We always trying to fix current bugs and listen with attention your feedbacks and suggestions. So, let we announce details about our new ROMs.

Change log (version 2.0.8) – 13 June 2015:

Android: add network monitor - Settings -> Ugoos Settings -> Show network activity
Android: add Ethernet switcher (eth0, eth1 ...etc) for USB adapters - Settings -> Ethernet -> Interface
Settings: add Save button in static ip settings
Ugoos Settings: add checkbox for bluetooth prefix "FireFly-" for FireEasy control. Without it bluetooth connection will not work

How to flash unpacked firmware:

1. Inside: RKBatchTool - tool for reflashing, DriverAssitant - tool to install drivers and firmware parts (kernel, recovery, boot, etc..).
2. If it first time, you need to install drivers use DriverAssitant or manual when connecting device
3. Run RKBatchTool. Click on the “…” button and choose file with firmware
4. Find recovery button on device, press and hold it.
5. Connect device to PC via USB OTG port (UT3: single port on right side, UM3: left port), and power on device (for UT3, UM3 will start when you connect USB cable)
6. PC will found new device and install drivers (or you need install it manually), then you may release recovery button.
7. If you did everything correctly and the driver is installed on your computer, you will see green light on one of the indicators. Now click the “Upgrade” button to the firmware of the device. At the end you will see a sign indicating a successful operation.

How to flash packed firmware

More detail information
In menu of settings was added tab "Ugoos setting". In this tab you can enable or disable the display the information of system load in Android status bar.Also in this tab you can change the preferred installation location for new apps and get access to the root on your device.
Please will be careful when you using root access. Careless actions can lead to partial or complete failure of the device.

It was added support of firease app. This app is intended for remote control your TV-box from phone or tablet pc. For installing client apk your need open ugoos.net/remote on your mobile phone or tablet-pc manually or scan QR-code from the settings menu. Client apk availible for Android and iOS.

We are pleased to announce the release of the new firmware based on Android 4.4.2 for our devices. For a long time we have not released new firmware versions for these devices. Starting with this firmware we will periodically release new versions contain bug fixes and adds useful new functionality. This release is based on the new version of the SDK so you might encounter errors. We would be grateful for help in finding flaws and ideas to improve the firmware.

How to flash packed firmware

Firmware v 0.3 with Ubuntu 14.10 and Android now available for install on Ugoos UT3, UT3S and UM3 devices!

Hello. We are pleased to announce the release of the new version firmware with Linux. Firmware is available for owners Ugoos UT3, UT3S and UM3 devices.

Now we use new method for building firmware. This will speed up the process of development of new firmware and will improve their quality. Linux part firmware based on Ubuntu 14.10 with XFCE. For Android part using latest official firmware v2.0.6. Especially for our devices, we have developed software that will allow you to control the hardware parts of the device. "uSettings" for all devices and "HDMI IN" for Ugoos UT3 devices. uSettings designed specifically for UT3, UT3S and UM3 devices. It will allow you to control the fan, led and HDMI input. Application "HDMI IN" will allow owners Ugoos UT3 switch the image source manually. In the current kernel is enabled support of NFS and include binfmt_misc module. binfmt_misc module allow using virtualization to run binary files with other architectures. For example you can run skype on your device. For using virtualization you need first install special software. In current firmware we include latest available user space GPU driver for fb. Unfortiently in the current time driver for X11 not available. But you can use this driver if you need OpenCL for example. To check the libraries we used examples from official Mali OpenCL SDK and Mali OpenGL ES SDK for Linux

1. Linux: Temporarily disabled support of 4k resolution in linux kernel. Maximal resolution 1920x1080.
Important!

By default Android tool configured to flashing "clear" android on your device. If you want install “Dualboot” or “Clear linux” click right mouse button by program window, and then select “Load config”.

Then choose one of configurations files:
   - config.cfg - if want flash only Android
   - config_dualboot.cfg - if want flash dualboot
   - config_linux.cfg - if want flash only linux
