Pangu 1.2 fixes the boot loop issue that has been affecting some iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 users.
Some users had reported that they were getting stuck on “Pangu Welcome screen” when they tried to reboot the iOS device jailbroken using Pangu. They were some weird workarounds to fix the issue, but it is good to see the Pangu team finally fixing this annoying issue.
Pangu 1.2 also installs afc2 during the jailbreak process, which will give jailbreakers full filesystem access. Earlier, users had to install Saurik’s AFC2 package from Cydia to get full filesystem access.
Here’s the complete change log of Pangu 1.2.0:

1. Fix boot loop bug for some iPhone4/4s.
2. Fix sandbox log issue.
3. afc2 is included now.
4. Add patch for task_for_pid.
5. Add notification if jailbreak fail.

The Pangu team had surprised everyone by releasing a jailbreak for iOS 7.1.2 – iOS 7.1 for Windows in June. They had initially used the exploit discovered by security researcher and hacker i0nic, but later released Pangu 1.1, which used different exploits. The Pangu team was recently nominated for the 2014 Pwnie Awards for the “Best Privilege Escalation Bug” for the Pangu jailbreak, along with the evad3rs’ team for the evasi0n jailbreak.

Even though Apple is thought to have several hardware products for release this year, the next-gen iPhone is naturally hogging the spotlight. Instead, it’ll probably manifest itself around November, although this may also be wishful thinking given that the most recent information points to an early 2015 retail, and in spite of the notion that Apple would announce both at the same time, the delay period may well see the Cupertino instead keep the so-called “phablet” release under wraps.
